Brief Fraternity History

The Omega Phi Kappa social/service multicultural organization was founded on February 1st, 1995 at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.

During the fall semester of 1994 an idea was born. Already established leaders within Sacred Heart Univeristy and sponsored organizations sixteen men from various backgrounds saw the need to the increase the exposure and awareness of diversity. By mid-fall semester the excitement grew and they decided to form a fraternal brotherhood unique among the Greek System at Sacred Heart University. Recognizing the means a fraternity would provide these men devised a structure based on Academic Excellence, Community Service, Brotherhood, and Ethnic and Cultural Awareness. Hence on February 1st, 1995 at Sacred Heart University with Travaris Geter as Viceroy, and Eric Wood as Secondary Viceroy, Omega Phi Kappa Fraternity was established.

Since its inception Omega Phi Kappa Fraternity has dedicated itself to continuing: to unify college men of all ethnic backgrounds; promote a solid understanding of brotherhood; increase the exposure and awareness of diversity; promote academic excellece, personal and professional growth; and volunteer our services in support of the community.

As Omega Phi Kappa continues onward unto our 14th Anniversary our foundation is strengthened, and through the support and pride of the brothers our future is brightened.
